Thanks to everyone who stops by each week! And especially for your comments. Life's been a bit crazy lately but I'm doing my best to make the SSS rounds.
Our heroine wakes up in a mental facility, not sure how she got there:
A wisp of a whisper rushed through my head: Run. It echoed, its force pushing the word at me again and again in a never-ending wave of frothing urgency. It built inside me like a whirlwind. Like a scream. It propelled me out the door, arms and legs scrambling wildly. Blood roared in my ears, muting the cacophony of shouts erupting behind me.
Check out all the awesome snippets from Six Sentence Sunday. While you're there, check out the cool cover to Dead to Rights too! :) Top right.

What a terrifying feel you create here! Which suits the premise of the story, of course. Great six!
Such great pacing to create the terror she must feel. Well done!
Oy I'd wanna run too.

a wisp of a whisper - a fantastic start to your magnificent pace. Thank you for a great six.
The way it's written, she has no choice but to obey! Way to build up the urgency and the suspense!
I have a weakness for characters who have a blank in their memories... I love how you described this. Great six.

Terrifying six, Cate! You pulled me right into the story and I can feel her terror as she makes a run for it!
Waking up in a mental facility would be enough to make anybody scream. Good job capturing her terror.
Wow. You had me at the first sentence. This is skillful writing.
Wow, I wanted to jump up and run myself!
