Loving your work too much for SSS

Thanks to everyone who visits, and thanks especially for your comments.  Here's another snippet from Rock Bottom, my contemporary from Lyrical Press. Reporter Billie Prescott's delighted when rocker Jet Trently decides to give an impromptu concert on the set of his reality dating show, Rock Bottom:

For the next hour, Billie wrote almost nonstop, adding whatever else transpired.
When she wasn’t staring at Jet. His long layered hair fell across his face at the end of a sad ballad, his features hardened while singing a rebellious anthem, and practically glowed during a love song. Once they aired this segment, every woman alive would want to sleep with him again.

Billie had already found out--the hard way--what it was like to rank below the fans, always second to some demand of stardom. Or some other girl.

There is so much excitement in the beginning of this excerpt, but it is washed away with sadness in the last two lines. A great six!

This is really wonderful. Showing him through her eyes when he's doing something he so loves is totally inspired. Nice job.

I love her descriptions of his changing moods, and that he'll need to work to woo her.

Loved her view of him, very evocative, and could feel her sadness at the end.

Emotional roller coaster of a snippet for us this week, eh? Fab stuff!

Kind of an emotional rollercoaster this week. The delight in his various responses to the songs, coupled with her sadness at the end. But I understand her concerns. I married a musician.

You show both the excitement as well as the sadness so well. Hopefully he shows he she's not second.

Aw, poor Billie, she's got it bad for him, hasn't she?

Great snippet!

Not as glamorous a life as it seems from a distance, huh? Cool snip!

So bittersweet! It sounds like this romance could be a sort of second chance for both of them.

Oh, get a little glimpse into the past there. Interesting.

I have to agree with Jessica. She is so in to the session and absorbed in the music, then reality hits home faster than she can push a rewind button. Her heart is damaged and it shines through. Great job!
