Here's another six from my dark paranormal, Dead to Rights. Our heroine has some strange experiences in a world she doesn’t know, and can’t even recognize herself in the mirror:
Like the first time I’d caught my reflection in the bathroom. I’d said, Excuse me, thinking another patient stood in front of me. When no response came, I stared for the longest time, unable to process that the eyes I looked through were set in the face looking back at me. I still had no clue who that person staring out from the mirror was. Not me, that was for damn sure. The mousy, shoulder-length brown hair matched mousier brown eyes set in a round face – the sight still stunned me.

Unsettling six. The thought of not recognizing yourself is quite a nightmarish premise - interesting six.
Wow, I can't imagine not recognizing myself in the mirror. Definitely nightmarish. Well done!
Intriguing six and definitely makes me want to know more. Great snippet!
I totally agree with Liz, it is very unsettling but so intriguing. Great six!
Nice and intriguing, attention grabber that is for sure! I want! :D
Oh spooky, spooky, spooky. I wonder how 'they' changed the colour of her eyes?

Hmm, I wonder how she came to be in that body? Nice six!
Intriguing - and very disturbing for her too!

Oh my gosh. This really makes me want to read more. Holy cow.
You pretty much had me at dark paranormal : ) Interesting setup.
very intriguing and unsettling. I am loving this story
Something has been misplaced: we know what it looks like but it isn't there, even when looking right at it. Worse, looking right at it in the mirror.
Amazing scene. The longer she can't believe it, the more I want to read the rest of the story.
That would have to be the most unsettling and freaky thing to have happen. But that feeling of unease makes the reader want more. Well, I do. Great six.
Intriguing and disquieting. Would not like to be her right now!
Gosh, I felt right there seeing through her eyes in this excerpt. Very well done, Cate!
There are days I wish I didn't know who was in the mirror ;) I keep forgetting how old I am.
Thanks for sharing!

Whoa that's really intriguing!
I don't know why, but it makes me think of those scary stories about staring at the mirror at midnight and saying 'bloody marry' three times and she'll appear behind you... definitely unsettling
Deeply unsettling six. To look upon yourself and not know. That's chilling
What's going on here? That would be a terrifying experience. I'd feel very lost...
Very terrifying six! I can't imagine how horrible that would be.
Another great six. You pick such interesting little pieces.
Oh, this sounds like a really intriguing story. Need to keep my eye on this one. Great snippet.
"Unsettling" is the perfect word for this! You do a great job creating that feeling. Great six!
Oh, wow, intriguing!! Nice six!
Not recognizing yourself is one of the creepiest things I can think of. Very nice.
Disturbing not to recognize yourself. But intriguing to know why she doesn't.
Very intriguing, Cate. I can only imagine what she is going through. Well done! Great six!
You do a great job capturing the bewilderedness of not recognizing oneself in the mirror!
I echo all the previous comments, it would be quite scary to look in a mirror and not recognize the face staring back at you. That's a really cool six sentence teaser - I like it.
Very interesting and agree with Kacey. Definitely a grabber!
