Sorry I've been a bit quiet of late. I have lots going on at the homefront. The two older grandboys will be out of school May 26th, which is coming up fast.
In a few weeks, we'll welcome our first grandgirl! *happy dance* And in July, our fourth grandboy will make his grand entry into the world. *happy dance* We've been in a frenzy of preparation!
I had so much fun making many of the baby shower decorations. The paper lanterns turned out pretty well, didn't they? The "wish" sign melted my heart when I found it online, so I had to recreate it.
On the writing front, things are likewise frenzied.
I had an idea for a screenplay, so have been studying that format. The premise is a bit dark, so I'm a little reluctant to take it on. Once I find a way to balance the darkness and redeem the protagonist, I will dig in. For now, I'm dancing around it. A little like dancing around a king cobra poised to strike.
With fingers crossed and teeth gritted, I'm subbing the futuristic novel I finished last year to agents and editors. Send some good thoughts my way!
And finally, I'm taking two writing courses this month. The first is meh, not impressive, so I'm not going to mention which one.
The second, I am loving. Not surprising - I've taken two other Margie Lawson courses, and downloaded two class packets, and all have challenged me to write deeper and stronger. Coincidentally, the name of the class is 30 Days to a Stronger Novel.
I intend to take more of her courses in the future. You're never too successful to learn, especially when the teacher's a sensei who can elevate your writing to ninja level.
Haiiyyya! I'm off to study.
