Happy Friday!

I hope you had a great week! I can't believe it's the last Friday in May, and June starts on Sunday! This year has flown by. I can't help but believe the second half is going to be even better!

I'm so grateful to have wonderful friends helping me share the gorgeous cover for Goddess, Awakened. Thanks to Beckey White for posting it on In the Pages of a Good Book - another blog you should be following, if you aren't already.

Last day to enter!
The giveaway at Night Owl Reviews is on until tomorrow! If you haven't yet entered to win an ebook of Rock Bottom, I hope you'll pop over now. I'd love for you to read this fun, rock'n roll contemporary novel, recently re-released by Kensington's new Lyrical imprint.

Great review for Charmed
I'm likewise grateful to reviewers for taking the time to read and post reviews. I'm thrilled that Jasmyn of Bitten by Romance rated Charmed a 4-star read! And she's asked to read the third in the trilogy, Claimed. Woot!

Have you checked out BTSE Magazine?

If you haven't, you're missing out! You might find a new great read through their ads or featured authors. Articles cover the gamut of the industry. Oh, and lots of reviews!

I have a lovely four-star review for Cursed in the November issue on page 80. It says, in part:

"I really enjoyed reading this book for more than just its genre. Cate has done a really great job drawing the reader into her Carnevale world – which is very well described to the point of being real if you got sucked into the pages. An additional note of interest was that her characters weren’t just interesting creatures of the paranormal world because they were just that way, they were made into what they were and changed by their environment.

I really enjoyed reading Cursed and I’m anticipating more in the very near future."
Reviewer Krissy Malott, BTSE Magazine (p. 80) http://issuu.com/btsemag/docs/november2013

I hope Krissy takes note of the ad on page 72. I'd love for her to read Charmed and Claimed as well. :)

Okay, back to the writing cave. I have to bump up my NaNo count this weekend! Have a great one.

Another wonderful review for Rock Bottom

I'm always intrigued with a novel that features a singer as the hero and heroine, and Rock Bottom hit the spot for me.
If you like contemporary stories with a sensuous romance, then add Rock Bottom to your list of books to read. It's fun, entertaining, and a great romance.

Thanks so much, Sunflower! It's always wonderful when someone loves reading my work as much as I love creating it.

Review for The Magic of Lavender

The review said in part:

This has a very good plot and the characters are believable. I think that fantasy romance fans as well as paranormal romance fans can enjoy this.

Though the best comment was in the actual comments section, where she said "It is a delightful book."
I really appreciate that Wild About Bones took the time to review this, especially given that it's a self-pubbed book. Thanks Bitten by Paranormal Romance!

Release day for Rock Bottom!

Woo hoo! I'm so excited that Rock Bottom's now available from Lyrical Press!

What's better than release day?

Here's part of the review:
I was captivated by this story just from its blurb. I am a very big music fan and did watch Rock of Love so I found it very interesting to see how an author could make a story from that concept. And Cate Masters did it perfectly! One of the things I am very fond of when I read is the imagery authors try to portrait and Cate does it beautifully. The way she describes the scenery of the house, the hills and sand gives you a perfect picture in your mind. She showed just how important communication is in any relationship, just to say what is on your mind and not assume or guess what the other person might be feeling or thinking. The chemistry, tension and conflicts between the characters were written exceptionally well, made me keep turning the page to see how they were going to resolve some of their issues. She writes a perfect example of forbidden love….knowing you shouldn’t be with that particular person but just can’t deny it and have that inability to say no. It had just the right amount of steamy scenes as well, did not feel thrown in just for the sake of having one like some other stories I have read. Anyone who grew up in the 80’s will appreciate the music references in this book as well, had be nodding my head yes in more than one occasion lol.

Woot! Ivelese made my week! Thanks so much!

Here's the blurb:

For rocker Jet Trently, success means playing the same platinum-selling hits over and over. Philly rock journalist Billie Prescott thrives on covering the latest releases. When her editor sends her to Malibu to cover Jet’s reality dating show, Rock Bottom, her blog’s success keeps her trapped there. Her life’s at Rock Bottom too, until she hears Jet’s new songs. They touch her heart as his music did when she was 15. When Jet touches her heart as well, will the reality show ruin the real thing?

I have another new post over at Sherry Gloag's blog today too, so I hope you'll pop over and say hi! From Sunday through Wednesday, I'll have a new post each day. I'd love for you to visit!

Wonderful review for Surfacing!

Wow, I love this review. It's especially gratifying when the reviewer "gets" your work, which is absolutely the case with this BookWenches review of Surfacing:

There is something about mermaids that tickles our imagination. Many of us loved the Ron Howard movie Splash when it came out in the 1980s, and the tale (and ‘toon) of The Little Mermaid has enchanted countless little girls. These mythical creatures resound with romance and whimsy, and if you're as fascinated by them as I am, then I’ve got a treat for you: Cate Masters’ novel Surfacing. This is a very well-written and involving story that features a young man who has lost his sense of direction in life but who regains his self-esteem, his family, and his future when he meets and falls in love with a mermaid.

Ms. Masters’ writing style is smooth and effortless in Surfacing, providing a comfortable and enjoyable read. I found myself drawn to her characters and their world almost immediately, and within a few pages I became completely lost in the story. Not only are her characters well-rounded and believable, but so is the setting.

Ms. Masters has a knack for well-executed yet understated emotion; I found watching AJ and his grandfather bond to be quite moving.

Surfacing is a delightful, entertaining, and touching read that will have readers rooting for the young hero and hoping that somehow fairytales can come true. This is more than a romance: it is a coming-of-age story that will linger in my memory. I truly enjoyed every page, and I think that if you decide to read it, you may as well."

There's even more - you can read the full review here.

A huge thank you, Bobby. You made my week!
