Fall is here!

I love the changing of the seasons, but I'm always especially excited when Fall arrives. I love everything about it - the vivid colors, the last hurrah of the lush flowers, the cheery decorations, pumpkin-flavored drinks and ice creams and breads, yum. Halloween is second only to Christmas and it's been hard to resist getting those decorations out yet.

Okay, so spiders, I'm not so crazy about. Maybe it's just my area, but they are everywhere this year. And they're speedy web builders - the back deck will be clear one night, and the next day, sunlight will glint off many silky threads. They are pretty when the light catches them, especially after a rain, like this one:

But the actual architect of the webs, I can live without. This guy must have a large family, because I'm seeing them more and more:

He has the kind of face that spawn nightmares, doesn't he? If you think he's bad, you should meet our wood spiders. They might be from the film Arachnaphobia, the way they follow your movements when loading logs into the wheelbarrow. Creepy!

Despite the creep factor, you have to admire their work. They create strong, beautiful webs strand by strand. A little like a story...

You knew there was a lead-in...

Today I'm at You Gotta Read Reviews, where I'm discussing (yep) a story or two in an interview. I hope you'll pop over.

And congrats to the winners!

To say it's been a crazy month would be an understatement. More contests are still underway, but congrats to these winners:

Mary Preston won the Cursed book tour giveaway - a $15 gift card

The Falling Into Romance blog hop had two winners!

Wilderness Girl trailer needs your vote!

Starting today, the book trailer for Wilderness Girl is up for video of the month at YouGottaReadReviews. I would so appreciate your vote! Mine is Entry #4.
Many of the photos in this video I took myself. I'm lucky to live in a scenic area.
Michael Eli of Soul Custody, a band from my hometown of Lambertville, NJ, provided the gorgeous song Angel's Lullabye. I wish I could have used the entire song. Sometimes I'll play the trailer just to listen to it, it's so beautiful. Thanks again, Michael!

Wilderness Girl garners top rating in first review!

Wow! You Gotta Read Reviews gave Wilderness Girl a rating of You Gotta Read, its highest!

Here's what Jennifer, the reviewer, had to say:
"I loved this story for one main reason- it's why I love romances. The story was so fun. It was also filled with hot and steamy sex scenes, and the figuring out how this relationship will work stuff. I giggled over the start of the book when Dana bumps into Hank in the camping section. It still makes me laugh and blush when I think about it. The characters have their moments of making the relationship work, but that just leads to great making up in so many ways. I had almost hoped Dana would run into her ex somewhere in the story with Hank with her. I always think I like longer books, but the length on this one was just right. Enough to read in one sitting, but filled with everything I needed or wanted to know. Ms. Masters can write a story filled with all the ingredients for a good erotic, romance in my book."

I'm especially grateful because this was my first attempt at an erotic romance, but it's always great when someone loves reading my story as much as I loved writing it.
Thanks Jennifer!

Three reasons to be excited today!

First, I woke up to find a great review from LASR - 4.5 books for Going with Gravity! Here's part of what the review said:
"If you are looking for a romance story which can make you believe that love is real, that it can sneak up on you when you least expect it and thrill to its force as a powerful whirlwind for change, then you are going enjoy reading Going with Gravity."
Thanks, Xeranthemum!

Second, my interview with Dionysus is now up at You Gotta Read Reviews. I hope you'll check it out. He's a very interesting guy... er, god! Kinda looks like Antonio Banderas, too. Dionysus is pushing for a rewrite of The Lure of the Vine - not possible now, though I'm kinda likin' the sequel idea.

Third, when I checked The Wild Rose Press site this morning, Seventh Heaven was still the number one bestseller! For the fourth straight week! I'm afraid to let it sink in for fear it will go away then. :)

Oh, and Freya's Bower posted their inaugural author interview with... guess who!

Hope everyone's having as happy a hump day as me!

First review for One Soul for Sale!

I couldn't wait til next week to post this! I just received an email from You Gotta Read Reviews, who rated One Soul for Sale as You Need to Read. Woot!
Here's the best part:
"This story was really a different kind of story for me that had me thinking about how the story could possibly turn out with a happy ending. Yes, I must confess I am a happy ending kind of person. I can't let you know if it has the HEA or not, that's for you to find out, but I can say you will be entertained on your way through this book. The writing style made me feel as though I were a part of the story instead of someone on the outside looking in. I was pulled into the story and couldn't stop until I hit the last page. The ending by the way ..... OUTSTANDING! I loved it! One Soul for Sale was filled with action scenes which made it a riveting story.
Ms. Masters has done an outstanding job with One Soul for Sale and has exposed me to a genre that I want to read more of. I recommend this book to anyone who wants an exciting read that will have you turning the pages as quickly as possible. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Masters work and because of One Soul for Sale, I will definitely be reading more books like this."

Wow, thanks, Val! So glad you enjoyed it!
One Soul for Sale is available in print on Amazon, too.
